How Long Does Treatment with Dental Braces Take?

Moving the teeth with braces must be done slowly to ensure the proper alignment of the teeth and the proper healing of the bone. Generally, a tooth can only be moved about a millimeter per month. While all the time required for successful treatment varies with each patient, it usually requires 18 months or so to complete orthodontic treatment with braces.
