Tooth Crowns

When a tooth is weakened by a large cavity, a severe crack, or a root canal procedure, a tooth crown may be the only way to save the tooth. A tooth crown is like a “cap” on the top of the tooth that not only improves the appearance of the tooth but also strengthens and protects it from further damage. Tooth crowns can be made from several different materials including gold (all metal crowns), porcelain (porcelain crowns), or a combination of metal and porcelain (porcelain on top of metal crowns). Any of these materials will provide a very strong, durable tooth crown. Dr. Pham has extensive experience in the placement of tooth crowns and can help you choose the type of tooth crown that is best for you.

Tooth Bridge

Replacing a missing tooth is absolutely essential to maintain the proper spacing of your remaining teeth and to preserve the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth. When one or more teeth are missing, a tooth bridge is an excellent way to replace the missing tooth/teeth and preserve the integrity of your bite. A tooth bridge consists of a series of crowns that are joined together to “bridge” the empty space created by the missing tooth/teeth. (see picture at left) A tooth bridge is permanently cemented in your mouth and restores the full function of your teeth. The specific design and materials of a tooth bridges varies depending on the individual needs of the patient. Dr. Pham is experienced in the design of tooth bridges and can help you choose the type of tooth bridge that is best for you
